What is coaching?
Generally speaking coaching is a forward-looking process grounded in the present moment that inspires you to maximize your personal, professional and human potential. It’s a collaboration focusing on developing the self (or a team inside of an organization) and on the emergence of deeply resonant truths in alignment with one’s values and authentic desires to inform future actions. It’s a relationship in which the truth can be told and holds no other consequences other than learning. It’s a safe container where adverse experiences can be alchemized into gifts and opportunities and where emotions can be processed safely. It’s a chance to engage in a thought provoking and creative process that can lead to regaining inspiration, forward momentum and greater innovation.
What is somatic coaching?
Somatic coaching is an invitation to travel through one or more arcs of transformation using the intelligence of the body in its wholeness {sensations, emotions, relational stances, internal narratives, actions and non actions} as a pathway to generate sustainable and profound change from the inside out. A partnership where we meet on the edge of who we are becoming and what is present in each moment.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Coaching is not therapy, psychological counseling, or social work, even though the coaching work may address personal issues or life conditions that impact personal and professional effectiveness. Coaching is a Professional-Client relationship that is designed to facilitate the creation/development of your personal, professional or business goals and to develop and carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals.
While therapy is extremely beneficial, it involves looking backward for healing. Coaching is present and future oriented.
For instance, while Somatic Coaching addresses the past by noticing how our personal history manifests in our tissues, the focus is on how this history impacts our current shape and goals for the future.
Coaching is also unique in the way that it invites experiential learning and applicability. By establishing conditions of satisfaction, success inside coaching can be measured by the client themself and accountability is available on demand.
What does transformation mean in the context of coaching?
Transformation is a thorough and substantial change from one state to another, leading to sustained changes in actions or behavior.
Who is Inscape Journey for?
Through the various Inscape Journey pathways, I am not promoting a lifestyle or rigid formula but the emergence of your own unique beauty and expression. Ultimately this is about honoring YOU as the expert of your own life and the personal or collective commitments we may hold together.
What is the lineage behind the coaching pathways?
My current somatic offerings and pathways are grounded in the precious teachings of Richard Strozzi and his dedicated, skillful and compassionate team at the Strozzi Institute. This somatics tradition integrates Polarity Therapy, Gestalt, Vipassana meditation and Aikido.
My practice is also informed by the Neuroscience of Change (a training led by Coaches Rising), by some elements of Polyvagal Theory and of the Internal Family System as well as Deity practices.
The intrinsic health and beauty coaching pathway’s educational pieces are inspired by the teachings of Zach Bush, MD as well as by cellular and radiant health foundational education I received from the Hippocrates Health Institute.
At my back are the integration of Strozzi Institute and Co-Active coaching methodologies as well as a few other processes I am certified to use with my clients.
What are some other distinctions around coaching?
As the client, you understand and agree to be fully responsible for your own physical, mental, emotional and social well-being during coaching, including making your own choices and decisions. Within the scope of health and beauty coaching, please note that I am not a doctor or a diagnostician or an authority in what beauty is and is not.
The work is focused on being well and on dignifying everyone’s unique beauty. I mainly support people in discovering their own strategies and motivations for change, overcoming obstacles, and implementing protocols that have either been prescribed by a clinician, nutritionist/dietitian or that my client chose to implement on their own.
I share concepts and information that were either transmitted inside of an official training and which I have permission to share or that are available to the general public. The source and resources are always available in the spirit of transparency and crediting the brilliance of the teachers, writers, thinkers, scientists or functional doctors I chose to follow. I also encourage my clients to ask their primary care physicians or licensed health professionals before trying or implementing a practice if in doubt.
Do you provide legal, financial or business advice?
Coaching conversations do not constitute legal, financial or business advice. In the event you desire any of the aforementioned services, it is your responsibility to seek a licensed professional other than me. Coaching affects a client’s business or finances only because it can help clarify and revise the client’s preferred relationship with their professional life and with their goals and desires.
